Taffy Apple Tartlets.

Hi Blogers,
No card for you today, instead I have a yummy recipe that I got from my friend Diane. Di is a pampered chef consultant.
This recipe is Taffy Apple Tarts and they are very yum! Tomorrow at work we are having a finger food day for Halloween and this is what I will be bringing.
Here is the recipe.
1/4 cup chopped peanuts
2 Granny smith apples
1/2 cup butterscotch caramel sauce. ( they kind you used to put over ice cream)
2 TSP flour
1 pkg( 2 crusts) of all ready pie crust
12 caramels unwrapped.

Pre- heat oven to 400 degrees.
chop up the peanuts  set aside for use later.
cut, peel and core the apples, chop until there are small pieces.
add the caramel sauce and flour.

Use a round biscuit cutter to cut the pie crust to rounds, you should get 12 pieces from one pie crust. 9 on 6 the outside and 3 inside.
the mini rounds are the pushed into small mini muffin tins.
Put 1/2 of a caramel piece in the bottom of each pie crust round, top with the apple mixture, sprinkle with peanuts.
Bake for 14-16 minutes. take out of muffin tins and cool on rack. Best is served warm.
This should make 24 mini tartlets.
Enjoy!
Happy Halloween!

We would love to see how you use vellum in your project but remember that we are a vintage, shabby chic or primitive challenge blog so your entry must be in one of those styles.

This week you could be a random winner and receive a digi of our choice along with a badge to display on your blog or the Design Team might choose your entry as Card of the Week and if they do, you will receive a badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.
Our designers have used vellum in a number of ways on their cards so you can see how versatile it can be and be inspired.

This week we are welcoming Peggy Marsh (a.k.a. The Wired Angel) as Guest Designer and she has created a beauty for you. Peggy was selected from the August Cards of the Week winners.

Sensational Fall

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow. The colors of fall are in full splendor right now but with the cold weather knocking at our door, they won't last too much longer so our challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow this week is to preserve them by making a vintage, shabby chic or primitive card with the COLORS OF FALL.

This week we have a lovely new sponsor, Paper Cupcakes, who will provide our random winner with 3 digis of her choice from the Paper Cupcakes store. The random winner will also receive a Sugar Creek Hollow badge to display on her blog.

The Design Team will choose a Card of the Week and that creator will receive a badge to display and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Our designers have created inspiration for you this week using Paper Cupcakes images so be sure to check out their blogs to get all the details.

Today is another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and it is also the first of the month so that means it is time for another TRASH TO VINTAGE TREASURE challenge. Your vintage card or other paper-crafted project must start with or include one or more items that you would normally throw away. This does not mean paper scraps in your stash but you can use them in addition to your recycled or re-purposed item. Please make sure you add a photo to your blog post of the throw-away item(s) you have used so we can see how your creativity began.
This is my trash, it was a lid to a mascarpone cheese container.
Here is my treasure, for this I used a die from Tim Holtz that made the flowers and I cut them to different sizes. Twig brach is a MS and so is the leaf .

We will be choosing a random winner who will receive a digi of our choice and the Design Team will select a Card of the Week.
Our designers have been digging through their recycling bins and transformed some great items into wonderful treasures for your inspiration. To get more details and see what they used, just click on their name and you will be taken directly to their blog.
