Sensational Masculine Saturday at SCH

Hello !
It is the weekend! Yea!!!

Today at Sugar Creek Hollow the challenge is Masculine cards. With Fathers day coming soon, we thought it would be a great time to get started. One lucky winner will get a badge and an image of our choice.
I  have a special card for you today.
The above picture is the card open, I learned about this type of fold called Box Arm fold from my dear friend Emma over at Lady and the Stamp. She even gives you the tutorial for free! Your the best Emma! So stop on over to her blog to check out her work and pick up the tutorial. Be sure to tell her I sent you!
Here is a view of the card closed. So it fits into a regular card envelope.
And one more with a view from the top.

I used quite a few sets  from SU to make the collage, and lots of distressing to make it feel a bit older. My Paper combo is Old Olive and Night of Navy.  When I brought this card into work, I even got a few orders for this. Very happy about that.
Be sure to come on over to SCH and show us your vintage or shabby Masculine cards. I cant wait to see what you make.
The rest of the DT will knock you socks off too, so stop by to see what  they have done and get some more inspiration.

Sensational Stitching with SCH

Happy Saturday and since it is Saturday that means it is time for SCH. For today's challenge we are doing stitching, faux or real.  I used the beautiful image- flower of the month which is daffodils from Sugar creek Hollow.
I paper pieced the flowers, and added some gems to the image. My sewing machine was acting up and I went through a few pieces of paper, so not very happy the way my stitching came out. I am however in love with these  new flower of the month images.

Today is the last activity in our month-long first anniversary celebration at Sugar Creek Hollow.

Please go to the challenge blog and leave a comment suggesting a name for this image. Don’t forget to leave a contact email in your comment.

Tracy, the owner of Sugar Creek Hollow, will review all the comments and will select the winning name. The winner will receive an un-watermarked version of the stamp. You have until midnight EST on March 30th to leave your comment and the winner will be announced on March 31st.
Be sure to check out the rest of the teams work.
I will announce the winner of the blog candy later today.

Sensational Flower Saturday.

Happy Saturday to everyone!
Hope you are all doing well. For today we are working with flowers over at Sugar Creek Hollow. Not just any flowers but, home made flowers. For my card I have made two flowers, I think they turned out great.
Here is my card, rather simple design with the image from SCH- Get Well.  For the image I did some light coloring and sponging.  My paper is from Papertrey and it is full of shimmer and shine. I love how my flowers turned out. I used tulle and ribbon. I cut out about 10-12 layers of the tulle and left about 4 pieces as the base.  Then  folding each piece in half so it looks like half a circle. That half, I would fold in half again so it looked like a cone. I would layer those on my base. Over lapping as I would go around the base.  I am a very visual person so  if any one is interested  I will do a post on how to make them.
My ribbon was sewn and gathered to make a flower and I used a rhinestone as the center.  This is my second card this week  with the easel fold, which is so much fun and easy to do.
I just might make some more of my cards this way.
Thanks for stopping by Don't forget next week is the blog hop with the new images from SCH . Tracy has some blog candy on SCH to celebrate the One year anniversary and next week  I have some of my own blog candy to give away.  Please  Check out the rest of the girls at Sugar Creek Hollow and our guest designer. I know they have awesome hand made flowers to show you!

Non-Traditional Valentines

Happy Saturday!
Are you ready for another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow?  I am and this one was a fun one or me non-traditional Valentines- no red or pink.
I went with a  monochromatic card. I used this beautiful Shabby Heart and Unconditional Love both  from Sugar Creek Hollow. I love, love, love how this turned out!  I used my nesties to layer and I even use a spritz or two of shimmer mist to add some sparkle to the card.
Here is a close up for the layers.

I hope you stop by the rest of the teams blogs and check out what they have created, leave them some love.  I am sure they will knock  your socks off! I think the girls on the SCH DT  are so very talented.  After you get some inspiration from the DT,  head on over to SCH and show us what you have made.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Weekend!

It's the weekend!! That means it is time for the girls at Sugar Creek Hollow to do more with the fantastic Christmas  images! For today we are doing a sketch challenge.
This is the sketch.  What a great sketch, you can use so many different images for this. Here is my card.
I used the cute Christmas mug and Merry Christmas saying from SCH.  I wanted to use this image and have not had the chance too. I ran this through my printer a few times with different papers by Cosmo cricket.  After cutting out the mug and poinsettias, I then put it back together  added some stickles to the flower centers, and I also used my copics to add some depth to the mug.  I got some dew drops out, I have not used them is quite  awhile. Thanks to stopping by hope you can join us and I would love the see what you do with the sketch!  Don't forget to check out the rest of the teams beautiful creations, they are over on my side bar.

Sugar Creek Hollow Vintage Lamp Post

Hello bloggers! Today for SCH we were to use the faux barn board technique.  I had to give it 4 tries before I got it right. Tee hee!   I think the first two time I gave it a try my glue was old and runny. The 3rd time it almost worked and finely it worked! I found it was a fine line to letting the glue dry and not dry.

I had fun on my computer changing the color of one of my favorite images from Sugar Creek Hollow.  I used my French scrip to add some red and brown  ink to the faux barn board. The DP is from Graphic 45.  My ribbon treatment is brown satin ribbon and Victorian lace from SU topped off with a antique brad.  The branches are from a MS punch.
Make sue you check out the rest for the DT to see what they did with their faux barn board.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Harvest Blessings.

Hello Bloggers!
It is Saturday and the day before Halloween. We don't get a lot of Trick or Treats here at our house. My son is going to stay home this year and my daughter is going to be Little Red Riding Hood and is going out with her girlfriend.  I can not tell you how tired I am this week! Boy... this puppy keeps you on your toes! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get this card done.  For Sugar Creek hollow we were to use a lace technique. I don't have lace at my house so I cheated and use some paper that has lace designs  on it.

I printed  this adorable scene from SCH  called Fall Church and the Harvest Blessing. I added stickles to the church windows and lots of sparkle swirls all around.  I just love this pleated velvet ribbon that I found at one of my local Scrapbook stores. Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the rest of the teams beautiful work. Be sure to check back next week we will have some more new Christmas images!
