Merry Christmas

This will be my last Post until after  Christmas.  I would like to Thank my little group of followers for taking the time to read my blog and look at my creations.
I am very excited, this Christmas my brother  and his daughter will be coming to Michigan all the way from California! Our plans are just to be together, My sister, brother and me! We have not been together in quite awhile, so this should be fun! The long distance and our busy lives make it very difficult for us to all be together.

I have two weeks off so I hope I can get down to my craft room to make something wonderful, I need to stock up on Birthday cards! Thank you again and Wishing you all the best Christmas and a Joyous New Year!

Beanie cap

Happy Monday to you! Have have been having a wonderful Monday, off of work for  two days then I work 3 days and off for two weeks!

I have not done a challenge in quite awhile and when I saw this over a SCS I knew I had to do it since I have about 6 gift card holders to make! This is very easy to make just follow Carolina's video. I made these two in about 1/2 hour and started a 3rd. The ribbon treatment is also  on  Carolina's blog, she is very creative and has lots of fun videos to learn new techniques.

Christmas Holly

Happy Sunday to you all! Have you seen the images over at Mo's digital pencil? I am in LOVE with them! So very special and terrific to color,  this card is full of glitter and fairy dust. I used my copics to color her in. This image is called Christmas fairy Holly

I  made another card  with this digital image and it is below. I went with softer colors and again lots and lots of glitter!

The yellow halo is not as bright as in the photo. The actual card it looks like a soft warm glow around her.

I need to work on the digital images, I am not the best with the computer and when I read the directions on the blog my images do not come up like they said they would. I think I did something and not sure what, I think I need to get my own personal computer assistant! LOL!

Thanks for coming by today and I hope to be back again this week.
Last week was the busiest week I think I have ever had!

Quick post!

Just a quick post today, I have 5 minutes! I have been so stinking busy this week not one second to myself! My stamps are missing me! I can hear them down in my craft area calling out to me to come and play! LOL!
I made this card a few weeks ago it is an inky antics stamp I found at the stamp store and thought the Santa was very cute and easy to color. For his hat, this was my first attempt with flower soft. Looks cute. Thanks for stopping by and I hope I can make it down to my lonely stamps this weekend to make something wonderful!

I already have orders from my husband to make some for the girls at his office.  This one was not perfect but, now that I know what I did wrong I can fix it on the others.

Holy cow!!

High hopes challenge is to make a card 1,2,3.  3 flowers, 2 brads and 1 saying. Here is my card for the challenge. I hope I made it in time for the challenge. I received this image this summer , it just makes me smile! The saying is computer generated and I made the background paper to look like cow hide.
I had a hard time placing the flowers, so I had to ask my 12 year old for help! This is his reply,  "Mom where do you like them? "
Me" not sure Nic."
Nic " you know Mom!"
Me" No, I don't Nic!" "do you like it here, here, or here!" as I move the flowers around the card.
Nic" Mom you know where you want to put the flowers."
At this point I gave up because I knew he really could care less!
The only reason he came was because I called him.  All he wanted to do was get back to his video game!  I picked the three spot that you now see, What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!

Winter cardinal

Today's card was for the MMTPT and for Wednesday's sketch challenge. It has been a long time since I got to make a sketch challenge card and I was very happy that I could combine the two challenges. I had uploaded this card Wednesday and by Thursday afternoon the card was gone.
This is an FYI, make sure you name your cards something unique when you upload to SCS.  It will get deleted  if another card has the same name.  Be careful!!! you could lose your card like I did.
I just love cardinals and believe it or not I did not have one stamp with a cardinal on it. I know,  GASP!!! I had to go to Michaels for a school project, got to love school projects that parents have to do too, and I pick this pretty guy up. I think I have to make a few more of these for Christmas time.
Oh.....what do you think of the bow?? Some of you know I have a bow handicap, I have the hardest time making them. Well, I got myself the bow easy and I just love it!  I just had to figure out how to use it and follow the directions. I have it down now and it makes  easy beautiful bows.
Thanks for stopping by.

A gift for you!

I found this adorable image at a stamp store by me. I had to drop my daughter off at a party, which was quite a ways form my house.  I remembered that I was close to one of my favorite stamp stores and had not been there for a while, So.............. Why not? I had 2 1/2 hours to kill.

I was so glad  I went because I found so many wonderful,  cute and fun  stamps. This is one of them, It is a Penny Black cling rubber stamp called a "slapstick". I used my Copic markers to color it in and lots and lots of glitter. Are these guy just the sweetest little hedgehogs? I fell in love! I knew I could not go on with out this stamp. It is a sickness!  All of the stampers have it, and sorry to say, there is no cure. I don't think I want one! *Grin*
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

This is for the featured stamper over at SCS.
The person featured is Dawn, AKA: Treasureoiler. She has a treasure for her gallery,  such beautiful work.  I fell for this card because for the fun color, she used Bermuda bay, I picked Tempting turquoise.  I told myself I was not going to buy the in colors this year.I am just not to crazy about them. I used a gray copic marker to make the boarder around the snowmen. just colored on the turquoise paper.

Birthday!

Hello!
Today's card is for a co-worker, it was her birthday today and I wanted to play with my Mo's digital pencil image.  I saw this image and it just put a smile on my face!  Is this little guy just the cutest?  Mo's  images are all so cute and very fun to color. I still need to get the hang of printing out the digital images and how to use my computer but, I still love them!!!
. I entered this in the DP2 challenge site, the challenge this week was to make a card that "glitters". I have two glittery flowers and the frosting on the cupcake also has some stickles that is sparkly. Thanks for stopping by and have a good night!

Sorrows

I made this card for two sisters that I work with. They had some  sadness and death  in their family.  I was asked to make a card for them and this is what I came up with. I thought the colors are soothing and the the patterns are pretty.  I also received  my shimmer paints and just  had to use them ( you can not tell). The image and the large darker blue paper under the tree, are are all shimmery! So very pretty.
If you have not seen the shimmer paints from Stampin up.  They are so very cool! What I did was put them in a mister bottle and added some 70% rubbing alcohol.  When you mist it on a card and the alcohol dries you get a beautiful shimmer effect. LOVE IT!!!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.

Retiform

I know I have been missing for a few days, I will have some pictures why, It is not me it's my craft room.  It was  such a  total mess that I had absolutely  no creative juices flowing!  This last weekend I did some buying at IKEA and some organizing of my craft room.  I have a few more things to work out and then I will post it all for you.

This is the new Technique for Monday over  at SCS. This one is so much fun.   I wanted to try it right away, here is the link to it. The image is from High hopes and it has been sitting on my desk just waiting for a card background to be mounted on when I saw the retiform technique I knew
I had found the background I wanted to use. Now I keep thinking of all the diffrent post it note sizes I could use with this technique!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Winter snowflakes.

The colors are very unusual for me, I am very much a traditional Christmas card color person! Greens and reds. Never pink blue and gray! I had to give it a try. This was for the featured stamper on SCS, Riley AKA  Dancerrile.

This is going to be a short post for me, still not 100% I have had a ear infection and not feeling the best this past week. Not the nicest  person to be around this weekend! Yikes!!  Sorry to my family. Looking forward to feeling better.

Swimming with the fishes! High Hope # 47

I am a big High Hopes fan! I think their stamps are fun and whimsical! Very fun to color with my copic markers, which make me feel like an artist! This weeks challenge was to have layers, well I think this card has enough layers and a very cool fun background technique that was a challenge over at SCS this past summer. The SCS challenge was to use rubber bands and emboss with them than brayer over the clear embossing. It reminded me of the ocean and the light coming through the water. There is lots of glitter on the mermaid, as there should be! The little turtle dude has glitter too!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday my DH and I celebrated our  13th wedding anniversary.  This is the card I made for him.  He brought me roses and we went out to dinner to one of our favorite spots.  We could not  stay out too late like we use to when we were dating and a few years younger!
I  used this stamp earlier this month on another card, went and showed him the card I made and forgot I wanted to use this stamp for our anniversary. I had to make a whole different card for ours! Silly Me!

Birthday card for Mothermark!

Hello!
yesterday over at SCS I found a cute card and noticed that teapot was in the title, so I just had to follow it and found the group that is continuing the teapot challenges for  Cindy while she is taking a personal break.
I started the teapot challenges late this summer and they were so much fun!  Cindy is such a hoot and the stories she comes up with for her tea pot challenges are laugh out loud funny! Over on the thread I read that her birthday is in October. So.......Happy Birthday Cindy!

Mellow whites

Yawhooooo!!!
I got to stamp today, I have been so busy and tired I just have not made it down to my happy place. Over at SCS the color challenge is to use Kraft, moss and white. I love the look of the white on kraft paper, it looks so pretty together.
I also like the technique I learned from Emma F,  with the background.
All you do is ink up the background stamp and lay the paper on it and just touch it with three fingers.  I love how it looks and then you can stamp things in between the background.
Now time to change hats, off to take my daughter to soccer practice !
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello! Today's card is an Anniversary card for a  friends,  their anniversary is close to ours.

I found this stamp at the Stamp show in August and thought it would be a perfect anniversary stamp. It is so sweet, two little love mice nuzzling.
The sunflower reminds me of the fall and since both anniversary's are in the fall it works perfect.
On this card I did some sewing, I have used this stitch before on another card and it is so cool, I had to use it again.
Tell me what you think!

The snowflakes are all glittery and under the button the punched snowflakes have some crystal snow adhere to it.

Tea party!

Happy Wednesday!
I made this card yesterday for two challenges, the color challenge over at SCS, and for the Mothermark's teapot Tuesdays. The color challenge was just perfect for me because I needed a birthday card for a girl in our neighborhood. If you don't know about Mothermark's Teapot Tuesdays you have to go and check it out!! They are a bunch of fun and crazy girls who crack me up every Tuesday. This Tuesday we were invited to go to Pelahatchi, Mississippi for a Pic-a-nic in Jellystone Park. I have know idea where Pelahatchi, Mississippi  is but, I went along any way. Barney the bear was going to eat up all of our goodies for the tea party so I made this cutie to distract him. Please,  tell me what you think?
Again Mothermark's tea parties are on Tuesday you can find out more info at the talented and creative Cindy's blog. There are no rules, other than to have fun and get creative!

Happy Friday!!

Hello Everyone!
I have been very busy today.  Had to take my dog to the day spa, that is what I call the groomers. She now smells good and is gorgeous! I made two peach pies and boiled a chicken so I can make homemade chicken noodle soup! All this and my kitchen is clean, usually it looks like a bomb went off in there when I am cooking.*grin*
So on to the good stuff! I made this cute card for SCS, limited supply challenge. It really got you thinking, You were to use your oldest stamp, newest tool , favorite colors and least favorite embellishment. My stamp is one of  the very first stamps that  I bought!  Is she not adorable? My newest tool is the Ribbon tag tri #2   Nestabilities from Spellbinders,  I love it! My favorite colors are all the colors, I seem to like the bright colors now and green is one of my favorites.
Now for my least favorite embellishment, I looked and looked and could not find anything so,  I am going to say a bow, because I have the hardest time tying one. It may take me about one hour to tie a bow and the card may only take 20 mins! How silly is that? This one took me about 40 minutes, I don't think it shoud take that long, does it for you?
On to a tease, here is a picute of the pies I made today, yummy!!!!
The house smells wonderful. My good friend Sharon  Gave me some Michigan peaches. I have lived in Michigan my whole life and never knew you could get peaches here! Well, all I have to say is Wow!!! They are the BOMB!!! Juciy and sweet, just wonderful. I had made an pie early in the week and it  was so good, I had to make another,  one for me and one for Sharon and her family. Thanks Sharon!!!
Thanks for stopping by today and have a good weekend!

Red Glorious Red!!!!

Hello!
Today over at splitcoast the way to use it challenge was to use red, I personally love red and think it is a great color. It also reminds me of my dad because red was his favorite color.
For my card today I used another Lockhart stamp,  these are such cute and whimsical stamps. I have a few of these but thought since I had to use red the tomato dress was the best.
The checked paper is double sided so I thought it would be fun to turn up an edge.
Punched the corners and added black corner punches under the checkered. The red flowers were white and I colored them bright red with copics. For the picture: I have a cheerful pot of bright yellow and red Mums on the back porch  and after the fog burned off this morning,  I took a picture. Thanks for stopping in today.

Buzzing by......

Here is my card for today. I am not 100% happy with it, but the bees are too stinking cute! This was today's sketch challenge over at splitcoast, very cool sketch. I think my stamping mojo has gone on a end of the summer vacation.
I used my copic markers to color the bees in and glitterfied their wings. The black background is embossed with a swirl embossing folder and the edges of the white are distressed. I used the  chicken wire so it might look like honey combs but to me it looks like chicken wire.
Thanks for stopping by.

First day of school!

Today was the first day of school for my kids. They left this morning with the loaded down backpacks!  This is my daughter's last year in Elementary school. So sad!  My son woke up today asking if it was a snow day! Too funny!!

I can't wait until they come home to tell me all the stories. About the teachers and the classes and anything else that happened during the day.
Here is Nic waiting for his friends because he walks to school. I will be back later with a card. Thanks for stopping by.

Color challenge.

Hello and good afternoon!
Today is the last day of summer for my kids, tomorrow is a full day of school!  I had to run out today and get some groceries for lunches.  I am not looking forward to school starting, I was getting spoiled sleeping in, and both kids start school early! yuck!! I guess I have to look forward to holidays and days off.
Today's card is for the color challenge over at Splitcoast. The challenge was to use black,  old olive and elegant eggplant.  I don't have eggplant , but not sure.  I have a mixed package from long ago and it had on  piece of purple card stock in it. I actually started with a Halloween card  because that is what the   colors reminded me of  but , changed my mind the last minute.
I used a old set from Stampin up and colored them with my copics.  The edge is hard to see but i used my favorite MS punch and added some purple under it, the black layer is embossed with the swiss dot embossing folder and looking at the card again I think the center of the flowers need some sparkle! I was just too impatient to wait for it to dry.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope to see you tomorrow!

High hopes- Fall into autumn.

Happy Labor Day,
I hope everyone is enjoying the last days of summer?  Today is not one of the best weather days of this summer, so it is a good day to be down in my craft room  making  some cards.
This is what I came up with: It is for the High hopes- Fall into autumn, check out the Sunday challenge.
This card was to have something of an Autumn feel........What is more like Autumn than Thanksgiving!  I stamped this adorable couple than masked them to add the leaf boarder at their feet.  I used copics to color the two and added the turquoise sky with my scallop oval punch
piece and a sponge. I used my sewing machine to sew around the edge of the card and put it all together. Up by the button I used a branch punch and added two leaves from another punch and put all that under a button. This guy to the left is on the inside of the card. I wanted to add him to the front but, there was no room.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day.
Recipe:
Stamps: High hopes, Oak boarder, Pilgrim pair,  and sm. turkey.  SU, teeny tiny words.
Paper: SU and the DP from recollections autumn collections.
ink: memento, temp turquoise.

accessories: ribbon,  square nesties,  punches, button,  stitching, copics.

Feel of Fall.

Happy Saturday!

I made this card for Flourishes Feel of fall challenge. If you enter the sketch you name will be entered for the chance to win all four of their new sets! Just go to the Flourishes Newsletter and you can read all about it. I do not own many of the Flourish stamps sets so, I made this card using a few different sets. I used fall colors with just a bit of green to the card. The ribbon was a big challenge for me, I am not very good at tying ribbons, I can't tell you how many times I tried to tie and untied this bow! Finally with some fluffing, twisting, walking away for 5 mins, and  glue dots it is in the right place, I am very envious of fellow stampers that tie beautiful big bows. I need to go to bow tying class! *grin*
Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your weekend.

Stamps: Inspired by Nature, French script, simple friendship.

SCS, Sketch challenge

I made this for the SCS, sketch challenge. They are having some problems with the up load today. So I will post twice today! What a fun and easy sketch today. I decided to use some fall stamps even though I don't want summer to end. I took the Lockhart  stamp
of the pumpkins and wheel barrel, masked that and added the scarecrow from the SU set of Happy Blessings.  Stamped the word Autumn and added a leave in the summer sun background. The corduroy  button is a brad, very hard to fold around the ribbon.Put it all together and this is what I came up with.  Thanks for stopping by.
